Jog Falls India

Video Length: 38 secs

Video Length: 4 secs

Jog Falls, view from the bridge
Video Length: 1 min 20 secs
The water falls is about 100mts from here... if you observe carefully, you will see that the flow kinda ends... that's where the falls are...

Video of Jog Falls in late monsoon

This is another tall waterfall that runs amok during monsoon season, exceeding even Kaieteur Falls in Guyana in terms of height and volume. This video was taken during Monsoon..

River Sharavathi splits up into four different tracks which are named in accordance with their perceived trajectories. Going from left to right respectively in the picture, the names and the reasons for naming are:

* Raja (King): Named so because of its apparently 'dignified' and 'serene' fall.
* Roarer: This stream appears out of a mass of rocks, making a tremendous amount of noise.
* Rocket: Consists of a large volume of water streaming out of a small opening at a very high speed.
* Rani (Queen), also called Lady: The stream has a winding, twisting trajectory, said to resemble the movements of a female dancer.

Please refer above comment by annappa.

@ Gagan

Jog falls, it is second biggest falls in the world.. The river Sharavathi takes a spectacular leap from a height of 292mts.

It is in shimoga district of karanataka, best way from hyderabad would be going via bangalore, then to shimoga (5-6 hours drive) and Jog is situated at 100KM away from shimoga. About 370KM from Bangalore.

@Annappa
Thanks for information...

Good job with the videos. Yes I dont think it could be the second tallest falls. The tallest is Angel falls and its way too tall. 979 Mtrs / 3,212 !!
